CROWLEY, La. (KLFY) — A man accused of hitting an Acadia Parish deputy in a car while trying to escape in Novemnber has been arrested, officials said.
Travis Cormier, 36, of Mire, is charged with the following:
- Attempted first degree murder
- Aggravated assault with a motor vehocle on a peace officer
- First degree negligent injuring
- Hit and run
- Aggravated property damage
- Resisting an officer
- Flight from an officer
- Taking contraband to/from a penal institution
- Possession of heroin
- Theft
- Driving with a suspended license
The charges stem from an incident in November in which deputies attempted to serve several arrest warrants on Cormier.
During the attempted arrest, Cormier allegedly used his vehicle to ram a police vehicle to escape. The vehicle was occupied by a deputy and caused heavy damage to the vehicle. As Cormier drove off, he attempted to hit a deputy who was on foot, injuring the deputy, officials said…
