Garbage collection and transit services in the city of Lafayette and unincorporated parts of the parish will be effected Christmas week and New Year’s week.
Lafayette Consolidated Government announced the following schedule adjustments for Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1:
Garbage and recycling
Acadiana Waste Services will not pick up garbage and recyclables on Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) or Jan. 1, (New Year’s Day). Collections normally on those days of the week will be pushed back one day.
After each holiday, all residential customers in the city and unincorporated parts of the parish may place additional bags of household trash three feet from their cart for collection on their next scheduled service day.
Lafayette Transit System
- LTS buses will run until 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve).
- Night Owl services will operate from 2:30-8:30 p.m. Christmas Eve.
- Paratransit vehicles will operate from 5:45 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
- No transit services are available Dec. 25 (Christmas Day).
- Day transit service, Night Owl service and paratransit service will resume regular schedules on Dec. 26.
- All services will follow regular schedules on Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve).
- LTS will not operate on Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day).
- Normal operations resume on Jan. 2.
