Opelousas police respond to community after three shootings

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — Opelousas police are addressing community concern following three shootings that occurred in just three days, believed to be isolated incidents without any connection.

The incidents took place in different areas of the city and stem from separate circumstances including a drug deal, a family dispute and a longstanding conflict related to high school.

During a press conference, Chief Graig LeBlanc of the Opelousas Police Department emphasized that investigators are actively working on each case. “We have not found any evidence that links these three shootings together,” LeBlanc stated, acknowledging the rising anxiety among residents…
