Popeyes on Pinhook Road in Lafayette damaged by grease fire; restaurant closed for repairs

A Popeyes location in Lafayette will be closed until further notice after a fire on New Year’s Eve damaged the restaurant, according to firefighters. The Lafayette Fire Department reported a grease fire damaged the Popeyes on West Pinhook Road on Wednesday, December 31, around 5:30 p.m. Authorities said firefighters arrived promptly after receiving the call from workers and found heavy smoke billowing from the restaurant. They added crews found the flames near the fryers and managed to put out the fire quickly.
