LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — The first baby of 2026 at Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital arrived early on Thursday, January 1. Parker Marie Babin was born at 12:53 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and measuring 20 inches.
Her parents, Reneé and Brandon Babin, were surprised by her early arrival. Reneé, a registered nurse at the hospital, visited with her high-risk pregnancy provider the day before and received unexpected news.
