Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry has issued an apology after his actions following the Fighting Irish’s controversial 72-71 loss at Cal on Friday evening.
The Fighting Irish were up 71-68 in the closing seconds of the game before they intentionally fouled the Golden Bears’ Dai Dai Ames. However, the foul was ruled to have been during Ames’s successful three-point attempt. After the call was reversed, then eventually upheld, Ames completed a four-point play to give Cal the lead for good.
