Longtime Lafayette area radio personality Stephanie Smallwood dies

Stephanie Smallwood, a beloved Acadiana radio personality and host, died after being ill for several months.

Smallwood fell ill in October and officially retired Dec.1, according to Delta Media Corporation, which announced her death in a statement on Sunday.

As the backbone of KFXZ Z105.9, a Delta Media Corporation radio station, for more than 12 years, Smallwood became a trusted voice in Acadiana, the station said.
