Former Youngsville police chief fined for actions after councilwoman’s crash in 2022

Former Youngsville police chief Rickey Boudreaux was fined by the Louisiana Board of Ethics after being found guilty of two allegations connected with an incident involving a former city councilman crashing into a parked car.

The board ruled that Boudreaux used his position as chief of police to compel and coerce two officers not to conduct a mandatory field sobriety test on Kayla Menard Reaux, a councilwoman who crashed into a car on Palfrey Parkway in November 2022.

Boudreaux also facilitated a payment from the motorist in exchange for the officers’ cooperation, the board ruled. He was fined $100 for each violation…
