LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy was placed on lockdown for a period on Tuesday as police searched for an armed burglary suspect believed to be nearby.

Lafayette police officers were responding to a reported vehicle burglary on Fairlane Drive, where a man allegedly stole a gun from a car, authorities explained.
