A request to open a bar in a vacant spot in downtown Lafayette is drawing opposition from the Lafayette Police Department.
Owners of the Downtown Daiquiri Lounge, which is registered to Marlon Haynes and Jeremy Figaro, are seeking a conditional use permit to open at 522 Jefferson St. from Lafayette Consolidated Government’s zoning commission.
