A new restaurant and pickleball-focused entertainment concept with a rooftop bar, called SMASH, is coming soon to the former Lafayette Health Club property at 2905 Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette.
The Lafayette Health Club has been closed for more than 15 years, despite its prominent frontage along Kaliste Saloom Road. Over time, the long-vacant property deteriorated and became one of the area’s more visible redevelopment opportunities.

In 2022, early demolition activity took place at the site, including the removal and filling of the former outdoor swimming pool. The existing tennis courts have remained intact and are now planned to be converted into pickleball courts as part of the redevelopment.
The property was recently acquired by Chase Group Construction, led by Chase Landry, with the intent of restoring activity to a site that once served as a major community gathering place. Landry noted that the condition of the property and its history in the community played a key role in the decision to move forward with the project.
