An Avoyelles Parish man who carjacked and killed a Lafayette Parish woman in 2022 to escape prosecution on an attempted murder charge was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison.
Brandon Francisco entered a plea deal with federal prosecutors in November of 2025 on a single count of carjacking, agreeing to a term of life in prison.
