At the beginning of the school year, Milton Elementary-Middle math teacher Annette Bodin gives her third grade students an eraser with their name on it.
They read “The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes” and talked about having a growth mindset. Bodin tells students their “magic eraser” can be used any time they make a mistake and reminds them that mistakes — and erasing them — are proof they’re trying.
