LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — The Kiwanis Club of Lafayette and Southern Hospitality Group have announced a new initiative to honor law enforcement officers in the Hub City. This year-long recognition effort will highlight the dedication of local officers.
The program will celebrate a Lafayette police officer each month and a Lafayette city marshal every quarter. The announcement was made at Pete’s on Johnston Street.
“Because law enforcement has a serious job. They serve and protect our community. It’s really oftentimes they don’t get the praise and the thanks that they deserve. And it’s up to community members and community leaders to recognize them and thank them for what they do because I can tell you, they don’t get paid enough.
