Lafayette’s north side to get a new $50 million school facility. See the timeline.

A new $50 million K-8 school will be built on the current site of J.W. Faulk Elementary School and possibly open by late next year.

Early renderings were shared with residents on Thursday to gather feedback on the project. The school would become the second K-8 facility in the parish.

Groundbreaking is expected to begin in late spring, with foundations being poured in late summer, said Stuart Billeaud, president of JB Mouton, the contractor for the project. The project is expected to be completed in November 2027…
