LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Lafayette students are getting a head start on their future with a program focused on preparing them for success. The initiative, called Dress for Success, is teaching students at J. W. Faulk Elementary School about etiquette and fashion attire.
“This is an initiative. Our organization is to empower young girls. And we have what is called ‘girl magic,’ and it’s in several of the schools,” Gwen Lewis with Women of Wisdom said.
“Fifth grade, that age? They’re like sponges. They take it in, and then, they apply. They’re mature enough to take it in and do it,” Lisa Lazard with Progressive Baptist Church added.
