Wow. Xanadu just keeps doing Mardi Gras better each year. The ladies krewe pulled out all the stops for their annual ball and pageant on Friday, Feb.13. The theme, A Mad Hatter’s Masquerade, was a spectacular production with costumes right out of Alice in Wonderland.
Queen Xanadu XXXVI Kimi Hargrave and her King Xanadu XXXVI Jeff Hargrave reigned over the festivities at the Cajundome Convention Center. The royal couple wore stunning royal red and black adorned with diamonds and rubies. The beautiful red robes and were quite fitting since this year’s ball collided with Valentine’s Day for one big celebration.
There truly was lots of love to go around as friends, family, and guests cheered on their King and Queen. The royal court muses, known as the Enchanted Hearts, portrayed classic characters from Lewis Caroll’s “Alice Through the Looking Glass.” There was head muse Alice, the Mad Hatter, the pink rabbit, and more…
