Man found guilty after 2022 West Baton Rouge home invasion

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A West Baton Rouge jury found a man accused of home invasion and attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon guilty on Wednesday.

According to the District Attorney’s office, on Sept. 30, 2022, Craig Washington, 42, of Opelousas, entered a West Baton Rouge home without authorization and began pushing the victim through the home towards her bedroom, where she believed she was going to be raped.

The victim begged to be released and for him to leave her home, or she would shoot him. He refused, which led to him being shot in the abdomen. The victim fled the area and called 911…
