SCOTT, La. (KLFY) — Residents at Mills Estate Mobile Home Park in Scott say rising lot rent and newly enforced requirements are putting their housing stability at risk, especially for elderly tenants living on fixed incomes.
Several tenants say their lot rent has steadily increased over the past few years. Jennifer Jusselin expected a routine lease renewal last fall which quickly became confusing.
“About the end of October, we received a one-page lease renewal and it was taped to our door and it said basically, this is your new rent. It’s $535.60. Check off the box. If you agree to this, send it in,” Jusselin said…
