ST. MARTIN PARISH, La (KLFY) — Discussions about a regional juvenile detention center in Acadiana were facing uncertainty as some parishes consider leaving the district created to build and operate the facility.
The Acadiana Regional Juvenile Justice District was created by state lawmakers to allow multiple parishes to take a regional approach to juvenile crime. Leaders have been working on plans for a facility that would house and rehabilitate youth offenders across the region.
