Entering Wednesday’s first true road game, LSU was in a rut for over a week. The Tigers’ offense had been struggling, the defense equally so and if not for the top end pitching, the purple and gold could have very easily had more than two losses.
In front of a juiced up crowd in Lafayette, LSU made costly mistakes in the field and never could apply pressure at the plate in a 7-2 loss to the Rajun Cajuns.
The Tigers’ couldn’t have gotten off to a much worse start in the field. Yes, it wasn’t a great start for Gavin Guidry either, who walked one and allowed two hits but a two error first inning also contributed to a three-run first inning for the Rajun Cajuns as a failed pickoff attempt would set up one run and a dropped ball at home plate on an infield single would directly lead to a run as well…
