NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) — A New Iberia mother says she feels wronged by the justice system after her son’s accused killer was offered a plea deal for manslaughter.
Tramane Lewis, 33, signed the agreement in June 2025, three years after 24-year-old Juantraveon Celestine was killed in May 2022.
Lewis was initially arrested on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm, illegal use of weapons, illegal carrying of a weapon, and aggravated criminal damage to property. His bond was set at $1.3 million…
