Lafayette Parish students allowed sweatpants in cold weather update

LAFAYETTE PARISH, LA. (KLFY) — Due to the expected cold weather, students in Lafayette Parish will be allowed to wear sweatpants to help them stay warm, especially while waiting for the bus. Blue jeans remain part of the standard LPSS dress code and may also be worn, according to Lafayette Parish School Board.

Families are also reminded of the following dress code:

  • Kindergarten to 5th grade students can wear jackets or coats with hoods.
  • 6th to 12th grade students can wear jackets or coats without hoods in accordance with district policy.
