Car crashes into Scott home, injuring driver and resident

SCOTT, La. (KLFY) — A vehicle crashed into a residence in the 100 block of Notre Dame on Saturday morning, injuring the driver and a resident who was pinned in his bed. The Scott Fire Department responded to the scene at 10:58 a.m. to perform a technical rescue.

Upon arrival, fire crews found the driver trapped inside the vehicle. A second man, who was in bed inside the home at the time of the crash, was pinned beneath the vehicle against a wall and suffered severe injuries.

Due to the complexity of the scene, the Scott Fire Department requested assistance from the Lafayette Squad, a team that specializes in technical rescue. Crews immediately began medical assessments while developing a coordinated plan to remove both victims safely…
