Bar proposed for downtown Lafayette would cause ‘legitimate public safety concerns,’ DDA head says

A bar owned by one of the applicants seeking to open a daiquiri bar downtown has been cited multiple times for loud noise and is the source of dozens of 911 calls since 2022, reports show.

Applicants of the Downtown Daiquiri Lounge proposed for 522 Jefferson St. are getting opposition from the Downtown Development Authority and the Lafayette Police Department in their request to obtain a conditional use permit to open.
