Car crashes into Scott home, leaving person in bed with life-threatening injuries

A car crashed into a home Saturday morning in Scott, leaving one person inside with life-threatening injuries, according to the Scott Fire Department.

Fire Chief Chad Sonnier said the crash occurred just before 11 a.m. on Notre Dame Drive near Westgate Road. Investigators believe the driver suffered a medical emergency, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and strike the home.

A person inside the residence, who was in bed at the time, was pinned beneath the vehicle and seriously injured, Sonnier said. The driver was also trapped but was freed and taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening…
