LAFAYETTE, La. (KMDL-FM) – Easter is approaching, falling on Sunday, April 5. But before that, we’ll observe Good Friday. As we know, there are some businesses that will close that day and local government will pause some its services to the community.

Because of the holiday, Lafayette Consolidated Government is reminding residents of changes with some of its services.
Here’s what to expect:

- Lafayette Transit System Services: No transit services will run on Good Friday, April 3, 2026. Regular transit operations resume on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
- Garbage & Recycling Collections: Acadiana Waste Services (AWS) will run garbage and recycling collections like normal on Friday, April 3, 2026. All weekly operations will remain the same.
