A woman died in a mobile home fire late Tuesday night, according to the Lafayette Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the fire in the 1700 block of Eraste Landry Road at around 11:36 p.m. The fire was extinguished and Helen Melancon, 74, was found dead in her bedroom.
