Opelousas hospital introduces first-in-Louisiana 3D wound healing technology

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY)- Opelousas General Health System is now using a new advanced wound care technology that officials say is helping change how chronic wounds are treated in Louisiana.

The hospital and its Wound Treatment Center have introduced the APLICOR 3D Tissue Regeneration System, a first-in-the-state technology that combines artificial intelligence, 3D printing, and a patient’s own fat tissue to create a personalized graft used to help heal chronic wounds when standard treatments have stalled.
