OPELOUSAS, La. (NEWS 15) — Water rates in Opelousas will increase by nearly 5% per month starting on July 1 to help pay for recent improvements and ongoing upgrades to the city’s water system.
The rate increase comes after the Louisiana Department of Health gave the Opelousas water system an “A” grade following significant upgrades. The system had received a “D” rating for years.
