A Louisiana woman who spent nearly $1,800 stocking a community fridge said she was left emotional after returning less than an hour later and finding almost everything gone.
Brashawnee Johnson had donated groceries, snacks and ready-to-eat meals to a community pantry and fridge in Opelousas after learning about the effort online. The project was created to help people facing food insecurity by offering free access to meals and essentials.
