Avelo has flown nearly 350K passengers in Lakeland in 2 years, officials say

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — Nearly 350,000 passengers have flown through Lakeland Linder International Airport since Avelo Airlines flights launched in June 2024, according to airport officials.

“This partnership has been tremendous. Two years have literally flown by,” said Lakeland city manager Shawn Sherrouse in a social media video celebrating the two year anniversary. “We look forward to the next two years and many more years beyond.”

Avelo Airlines is the first commercial airline to fly out of Lakeland in over a decade.
