Polk County Woman Arrested After Returning Stolen Car To Victim’s House

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Fort Meade resident got a bizarre surprise early Thursday morning when a woman allegedly stole his car, only to drive it right back to his house while deputies were already on their way.

The incident began around 2:30 a.m. on July 2nd, when Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call about a vehicle theft at a local home. The victim told authorities that 25-year-old Noemi Cabrera of Bowling Green—whom he identified as his brother’s friend—was inside the residence when she suddenly grabbed his car keys. She then drove off in his gray 2010 Chevy Malibu without permission.

However, the car theft took an unexpected turn. While deputies were still en route to the scene, Cabrera drove the Malibu back to the victim’s house, parked it, and took off running…
