Phoenix Racing, Florida Polytechnic University’s solar racing team, will compete in two back-to-back competitions this July.
The team will return to the Electrek Formula Sun Grand Prix 2026 from July 21 to 23 at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minn. Last year, they placed third in the race, outperforming big-name schools, like Virginia Tech, UC Berkeley, and the University of Florida.
From July 25 through August 1, the team will participate in the Electrek American Solar Challenge, a 1,500-mile cross-country solar race from Minneapolis to Amarillo, Texas…
