Haines City is inviting residents to attend an educational town hall to answer questions about a proposed state constitutional amendment that would significantly cut property taxes on homesteaded properties.
The amendment, which will appear on the November ballot, would increase the standard homestead exemption from $50,000 to the first $150,000 of assessed value on a home by 2027 and $250,000 by 2028.
