Lakeland cracks down on watering violations with new fines

LAKELAND, Fla. — The city of Lakeland is cracking down on watering violations.

City commissioners recently approved higher fines for people who violate Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) watering restrictions. The agency extended its Phase 3 water shortage as the area continues to deal with drought conditions and low water levels.
