Mulberry city commissioners will hold two special sessions in the next week and a half. The first is a review of semifinalist candidates for city manager on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The second is a workshop on the City Hall Complex project on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The Hunt for a City manager
At the Sept. 29 special meeting, commissioners will review the city manager semifinalists and decide which of the applicants move on to the next step of the search. The meeting starts at 5 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 104 S. Church Ave.
The city is recruiting its next manager through Strategic Government Resources, a national executive search firm. The recruitment posting lists a salary range of $145,000 to $185,000, depending on experience and qualifications, plus standard municipal benefits.
The city manager is Mulberry’s chief executive officer. The job covers day-to-day operations of city departments and directs the city’s redevelopment and economic development efforts. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least seven years of executive or senior management experience in local government or a similar public sector role. The person hired does not have to live in Mulberry when appointed but must reside in city limits while in office.
City Hall Complex Workshop Oct. 6
The commission will return to the same chambers at 5 p.m. Oct. 6 for a special workshop on the City Hall Complex project.
