POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A traffic stop over a broken taillight ended with the arrest of a Lake Wales man wanted on multiple felony charges, including armed kidnapping, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested 42-year-old Thomas Kenneth James on Tuesday evening, Sept. 29, 2026. A PCSO deputy initially pulled over a white Ford Ranger driven by James around 8:45 p.m. near Rifle Range Road and State Road 60, just south of Wahneta, after noticing the damaged taillight.
