Polk County, Fla. (WFLA) — The defense tried to mitigate Tony “TJ” Wiggins’ sentence by bringing up his past, while the prosecution used its own expert testimony to rebut the claim that not everyone who has a harsh childhood faces developmental issues on the second day of the penalty phase.
The families of those who were killed by Wiggins were hoping to hear a sentence recommendation on Friday.
