POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 48-year-old man wanted on multiple violent felony charges was taken into custody Wednesday night after a chance encounter with a Polk County deputy, authorities said.
Leonel Martinez Enriquez, a Mexican national, was arrested on October 7, 2026, around 9:30 p.m. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was working on an unrelated investigation when he came across Enriquez.
During the contact, the deputy checked Enriquez’s information and discovered an active warrant for his arrest. The warrant lists charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery by strangulation, petit theft, and criminal mischief…
