LAKELAND, Fla. – A 57-year-old Lakeland man died Friday afternoon after his vehicle left the roadway, struck a traffic sign, and crashed into the shoreline of Lake Bonny.
Emergency crews were dispatched at about 12:13 p.m. to the 1000 block of Longfellow Boulevard following reports of a single-vehicle wreck. According to investigators, the man was driving a grey GMC SUV southbound along the boulevard when the vehicle veered off course for reasons that remain unclear.
