Lakeland, FL – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a cunning theft that occurred at a Dollar General store in north Lakeland. The incident, which involved a technique known as ‘sleight of hand,’ was carried out with the aim of bewildering and deceiving the store’s sales clerk.
This particular method of theft is designed for quick execution, relying on the perpetrator’s ability to confuse and distract the clerk during the transaction. In this instance, the suspect successfully employed his ruse to commit the theft.
Detective Peffer of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male and female captured in surveillance photographs related to the case. These individuals are sought for questioning in connection with the theft at the Dollar General store.
