Winter Haven state medalist Alyvia Logan not too busy to become top girls weightlifter

WINTER HAVEN — Some people are just natural leaders, but to even become a leader, you have to be involved in the community, which in Alyvia Logan’s case, her community is her school. To say that Logan is involved in her school would be an understatement.

The Winter Haven senior is class president for the fourth year in a row, she’s a member of the FHSAA Student-Advisory Committee, she volunteered at two student leadership seminars that the FHSAA hosted last summer and represented Florida at a national student leadership seminar in Indianapolis, and she was chosen to go to Girls State last year — all this on top of taking AP course in school and competing in girls weightlifting and competitive cheer.

“I like to be involved with anything that I can and help where ever I can,” said Logan, who said her older sister was a big influence. “If I feel like I ave something that I can use to contribute to something, I’ll do it.”

For all the other extracurricular activities in which Logan is involved — you also see her at Winter Haven athletic events taking pictures — athletics is the priority now, especially girls weightlifting at the Class 3A, Region 3 meet in St. Cloud on Saturday. She also has a chance to win a state medal on Friday in competitive cheer where she is an alternate for the Blue Devils.
