LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — Marcelle Waldon, the man accused of killing a former Lakeland City Commissioner and her husband in 2020, was found guilty in a Polk County courtroom on Wednesday.
Waldon murdered Edie Yates-Henderson and her husband, David Henderson, inside their Lake Morton home while committing a robbery in November 2020.

David Henderson arrived to the home that day and found Waldon holding Edie at gunpoint. Investigators said Waldon tied up the couple, stabbed David, and then forced Edie to write him a personal check before stabbing her, too.
While leaving the scene of the murders, Waldon stole several items and turned the stove burners on high in an attempt to set the home on fire. He later stole David’s car and torched it. He also tried to cash a check for $5,000.
