Lakeland Regional Health opens its new urgent care center at Kathleen Road and I-4

LAKELAND — Lakeland parents whose children have a sudden fever or cough that can’t wait for an appointment with the doctor have a new option.

Lakeland Regional Health announced the opening of its new Urgent Care at its Kathleen Campus, 2400 Kathleen Road, on Facebook and social media as of Monday.

The urgent care center is designed to treat individuals age 2 and older, even if the person is not currently an established patient of a Lakeland Regional Health provider.

Among the common health conditions its providers are able to treat: cold and cough symptoms, earaches, minor back and shoulder pains, minor trauma including burns or lacerations, sinus infections and sprains, according to LRH’s website.

The urgent care will be open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 pm., and weekends, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Its onsite laboratory is open Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. It can be reached at 863-284-6800.

The Kathleen urgent care was first announced as part of Lakeland Regional Health’s plans in September 2022 based on the healthcare provider’s assessment of regional community needs.
