Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies, assisting the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force, were executing a warrant service related to a homicide investigation involving Rodriguez. The operation commenced around 6:45 a.m., with the task force entering Rodriguez’s residence approximately forty minutes later. Upon entry, Rodriguez opened fire on the officers, prompting a Tampa Police Department officer, part of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, to return fire.

The situation escalated as Rodriguez continued to shoot at PSO patrol deputies arriving to support, through a window of the residence. A deputy returned fire in response to the aggression. Remarkably, no law enforcement officers were injured during the exchange.
