19 couples tie the knot in annual group wedding ceremony in Pasco County

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Love is in the air for lots of Pasco County couples this Valentine’s Day.

On Wednesday morning, 19 couples tied the knot at the 16th annual Valentine’s Wedding Ceremony at the historic courthouse in downtown Dade City. Those who are already married were also welcome to join the event and renew their vows.

“This is a fantastic day,” one couple said. “I think it’s great to be able to share this with everybody here.”

The Pasco County Clerk’s Office said since 2009, they have married 279 couples.

“I looks so forward to this day. My team works really hard to put on such a special event,” Clerk Nikki Alvarez-Sowles said. “And I get the honor to marry couples who are in love and wanna pledge thier lives to each other and start their lives together. I just find that very special to be part of someone’s most important moments in their lives.”

Following the ceremony, the newly weds were able to enjoy cupcakes and refreshments. They also received discounts from local restauramts a frew will preparation from a law firm, and a $100 gift card from Kiefer Fine Jewelers.
