Bryce Cleasby, a Lakeland High School senior, has been named a semifinalist for the National Honor Society (NHS) Scholarship. The NHS, backed by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), has granted over $25 million in scholarships since 1946. These are awarded to student leaders who exemplify the NHS’s four pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

Cleasby, the NHS President at his school, is known for his community involvement and respect for others. He has organized a Thanksgiving Food Drive, a Holiday Toy Drive, and a Holiday Outreach to a local nursing home. Additionally, he serves on the HV Coalition Board and the Village Fine Arts Association.

The NHS Scholarship is a significant award given to outstanding student leaders. It’s part of the NASSP’s initiative to promote college access and student success. The scholarship recipients are chosen based on their commitment to the NHS’s four pillars.

Cleasby is considering attending either the University of Michigan or Oakland University. He intends to major in Psychology and aims to become a physician’s assistant.
