WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. ( WFLA ) — A 9-foot alligator caught walking near an elementary school north of Tampa was captured.
On Tuesday, the Florida Fire and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to reports of the gator walking down a Wesley Chapel street at around 3:45 p.m.

Two people armed with ropes held down the gator, which was seen just outside the Grassglen community, across from Seven Oaks Elementary School as students left school for the day.
The video shows the aggressive animal flinging and attacking a trapper as he was trying to constrain the gator. The alligator almost got loose after he shook his body back and forth, causing the man to fall onto his back.
The FWC said they captured and removed the gator.
