WATCH: 4 people, dog rescued from Hillsborough County flooding

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Four people and a dog were rescued Thursday night after flooding from Hurricane Helene.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office made the rescue near Hillsborough Avenue, deputies said.

Helene moved through the Tampa Bay area Thursday evening and made landfall Thursday night in the Big Bend region, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Storm surge is expected to continue to impact the Tampa Bay area.
